Eric McCabe

Thumbnail Biography
Eric McCabe is a nature photographer from Perth, Scotland where he was born and raised. For a number of years he worked in the computer industry but has turned full-time professional to pursue his love of wildlife.

Eric has been taking photographs for more than 25 years, maintaining a wide range of natural history interests. He sees himself fundamentally as a naturalist with a camera rather than a photographer who shoots animals.
Eric is a member of the
Zoological Photographic Club (ZPC). The ZPC is a postal portfolio of over 100 years standing, featuring many  of the top UK wildlife photographers. He also supplies images to Windrush and Papilio photographic agencies.
Eric shoots a wide variety of subjects, particularly concentrating on Birds and  Dragonflies and travels abroad to further his career. He mainly shoots available light but will use a table top set up for small mammals and Pond Life species.

As well as being the highest point in Perthshire Ben Lawers is the best place in Britain for lime loving alpine plants. A visit there in the company of some botanists proved to be very productive.

It was in the middle of the warmest spell of summer weather I can recall.
